DAY 01 | AIRPORT – PADANG CITY TOUR , TRANSFER TO HOTEL (B)
Welcome to Minangkbau land, upon arrival at Airport you will be met and greeted by our local guide, continue short city sightseeing Tour of Padang visiting Muara beach, old China town with its Chinese temple, Museum and market. DAY 02 | PADANG – LAKE DIATAS & DIBAWAH – KERSIK TUO (B)
After breakfast at hotel you leave Padang for Kersik Tuo via Muara Labuh. Enjoy scenic drive pasing through mountain winding road, en route you will make stop at lake Diatas & lake Dibawah. Continue drive via Muaralabuh passing several Minangkabau villages, afternoon you will arrive at Kersiktuo village situated at 1.425 m above sea level, at foot of Mt. Kerinci within area of Kerinci Seblat National Park. The landscape of Kersik Tuo is dominated by the massive cone of Gunung Kerinci. Check in at simple guest house for overnight. DAY 03 | TREK LAKE GUNUNG TUJUH (B,L,D)
After breakfast, you will be transferred to a place where you start trekking in to the jungle of Kerinci Seblat National Park. This soft trekking will take app. 3 hours climbing up the Gunung Tujuh where on the top the Lake of Gunung Tujuh is located. Lake Danau Tujuh is a huge-mysterious lake on 1.995 m above sea level and surrounded by primary rainforest and 7 hills. You will break for lunch at the lakeside. The pristine area around the lake is known as the habitat of Sumatran Tigers, Sumatran Elephants, Primates, endemic birds of Sumatra as well as research area for the “small man” who live in the jungle around the lake. Most of the day is spent by trekking and explore the surrounding in search for animals, birds and exotic plants. DAY 04 | KERSIK TUO VILLAGE – TREK MT. KERINCI – CAMP SITE AT SCHELTER 2 (B,L,D)
Leave your lodging in the morning, wake up around 6 am , after breakfast you will be driven to the trailhead of Mt. Kerinci. On the way to the trail head, don’t forget to turn around and see the incredible view of the beautiful Kayu Aro tea plantation, rice fields, the Rawa Bento wetlands, and Mt. Tujuh off in the distance. There are 6 checkpoints between the trailhead and the summit. The climb to Shelter 2 (3,000 m) where you will set up tent for the night, will take about 6-7 hours. You will take lunch break either at POS 2 or POS 3. The track is unmarked but well defined and of average gradient till Shelter 3. Gunung Kerinci which is part of the Kerinci Seblat National Park is rich in flora and fauna such as edelweiss, orchids, pitcher plants, hornbills, squirrels, boar and long tailed macaques. Enjoy a sumptuous cooked meal and turn in early to prepare for the next day’s summit climb. | Overnight at TENT
